Privacy policy.

Pocket GM is a tabletop-RPG toolkit built by Lin Stous. It runs entirely on your device. This page explains, in plain language, what data the app collects, what it doesn't, and which third parties are involved.

Short version: the app does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal information. Two third-party services see limited data when you use the relevant features: Google AdMob (ads) and RevenueCat (purchases). Both are widely used industry providers and only see what they need to serve ads or process a purchase.

What the app stores on your device

The following data is kept locally in your device's app storage. It never leaves your phone unless you explicitly share it (for example, by tapping the share button on a saved item):

Saved generations (NPCs, taverns, quests, etc.) you've heart-tapped
Your settings (theme, preferences)
Free-tier ad credits and cooldown timestamps
Your premium-purchase status (cached locally for offline use; the source of truth is RevenueCat)

Clearing the app's data from your device's settings removes all of the above. You can also clear saved items from within the app's Settings tab.

What the app does not collect

No account creation, sign-in, or user profile
No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting
No location data
No contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access
No tracking across other apps
No data sold or shared with marketers

Third-party services

Google AdMob

When you choose to watch a rewarded ad to unlock additional uses of a premium tool, the AdMob SDK loads and plays the ad. AdMob may collect data including your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location (derived from IP), and ad-interaction events to serve ads and measure performance.

You can opt out of personalized advertising in your Android settings under Privacy → Ads → Reset advertising ID / Delete advertising ID. AdMob's privacy practices are governed by Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

RevenueCat

When you purchase Premium, the transaction is handled by Google Play Billing. RevenueCat receives the purchase receipt to validate it and record your entitlement. It does not see your payment method, billing address, or other personal information beyond a randomly generated user identifier (an anonymous UUID created on your device).

Google Play Billing

One-time Premium purchases are processed by Google Play Billing through your Google account. We never see your payment details. Google's billing privacy practices are part of their privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Children

Pocket GM is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through this app, please contact us and we'll address it promptly.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
